Mailchimp Integration

If you’re moving from Mailchimp to Transpond, the Mailchimp integration helps make the transition much easier. Quickly bring across the key assets you already rely on, including your contacts, templates, and images, so you can start sending campaigns in Transpond with minimal disruption.

By connecting your Mailchimp account, you can import your existing audiences into Transpond Groups, along with subscriber status, opt-in dates, engagement data, custom fields, and tags. This helps ensure your data stays organised and ready for segmentation and targeting in future campaigns.

You can also import templates from your past Mailchimp campaigns and images stored in your Mailchimp files. Once imported, these assets are available inside Transpond, where they can be edited, reused, and improved using Transpond’s tools.

The result is a faster, smoother migration: you keep the work you’ve already done in Mailchimp while leveraging Transpond’s features to continue growing and communicating with your audience.

Who can use this feature? An Admin role is required to set up the integration

Available on: Free, Starter, Growth, Advanced and Ultimate

Connecting Mailchimp to Transpond

  1. In Transpond, go to the Account menu > Integrations > click Add Integrations > click View/Install under Mailchimp.
  2. Click Connect to Mailchimp and then enter your username and password for Mailchimp.
  3. Review the integration access request and then click Allow to complete the connection.

Importing your Mailchimp Audiences

  1. In Transpond, go to the Account menu > Integrations > click Manage next to Mailchimp.
  2. Under Audience, click Setup Import.
  3. Select the Mailchimp List/Audience you want to import and then select the Transpond Group the contacts should be added to. You can choose from an existing Transpond Group or create a new one.
  4. Select the Mailchimp fields you want to import for your contacts. You will map these fields to existing Transpond fields or create new custom fields. You can also decide if you would like to import your Mailchimp tags during this step.
  5. With the fields selected and mapped, you can click Start Import and track the progress of the import.

If you want to import a different Mailchimp Audience, or if new contacts are added to Mailchimp that you want to bring over to Transpond, you will need to re-run the import process.

Importing your Mailchimp Templates

  1. In Transpond, go to the Account menu > Integrations > click Manage next to Mailchimp.
  2. Under Templates, click Select Campaigns.
  3. Click View & Import next to the campaign you want to import a template from. Click Import.

If your template contains merge tags, these will need to be converted to Transpond merge tags for them to work when using the template in future campaigns. You can convert existing Mailchimp merge tags to your existing Transpond merge tags or choose to ignore the Mailchimp merge tag.

  1. Click Import Template
  2. Once your template has been imported, you can view it by clicking Campaigns > Templates.

Importing your Mailchimp Images

  1. In Transpond, go to the Account menu > Integrations > click Manage next to Mailchimp.
  2. Under Images, click Select Files.
  3. Use the dropdown field to select the Mailchimp folder and the checkboxes next to your images to select the images you wish to import. Click Import Files.
  4. Once the files have been imported you can view them by clicking Campaigns > Templates > File Manager. Under Your Folders on the left-hand side, you will see a new folder called Mailchimp; all of your imported images from Mailchimp will be within this folder.
