Why is Smart Sending useful?

Smart Sending handles the timing and pacing of your emails so you can focus on creating great content. The main benefits include:

  • Improved engagement - Your emails are sent when your Contacts are more likely to open them, helping you get better results from each campaign.
  • More reliable delivery - Sending is paced carefully to avoid common issues with email providers, so your messages are more likely to arrive as expected.
  • No extra effort - Everything runs automatically in the background; you don’t need to adjust any settings.

What are the Smart Sending Options?

At Step 3 of the email campaign wizard, you will find a few different options to choose from, depending on your plan.

The Smart Sending options are best used in different scenarios - click the links below to read more about each one:

For larger campaigns or when there’s not enough data to fully optimize, Transpond ensures your campaigns are sent at a steady and reliable pace. This helps avoid overwhelming email servers and maintains good deliverability. If needed, we’ll spread your campaign over a few hours to keep things running smoothly without compromising the results.

Fast Sending

This is best if you need to get your email into Contacts' inboxes as quickly as possible. If you want to slow down your campaign manually, you can use our batch sending options, which can help prevent some providers, such as Gmail, from detecting the emails as spam.

Optimized Delivery

Available on: Starter, Growth, Advanced and Ultimate

If the Contacts in your campaign are not highly engaged (or the Group/Segment contains lots of new Contacts), Optimized Delivery ensures that the emails are sent first to your most engaged Contacts, giving the campaign a better chance of not being flagged as spam by your newer/less engaged ones.

To give your campaign the best possible chance of success, we prioritize Contacts in 3 waves - based on their engagement history. Here’s how we group and send them, in order:

  1. Highly Engaged – Contacts who’ve clicked on emails recently.
  2. Recently Opened – Contacts who’ve opened emails recently.
  3. Everyone Else – The rest of your audience.

By sending in these waves, your most engaged contacts get the email first (and have time to engage with your Content), while everyone else follows after. This helps maximize opens and clicks early in the campaign.

As you grow engagement and use Optimized Delivery, the number of contacts in each sending wave will adjust automatically.

It can take up to a few hours for the Campaign to finish sending to all Contacts - but the better the engagement, the shorter the gap will be between the waves. Email providers will be less likely to mark your Campaigns as spam if there is more engagement on the previous waves.

Best Engagement

Available on: Growth, Advanced and Ultimate

Transpond analyses when your contacts typically engage with emails and helps schedule your campaigns to match those times. For example, if a subscriber tends to open emails in the morning, we aim to send your messages when they’re most likely to see them. This approach increases the chances of your emails getting opened, clicked, and acted on - without you needing to do a thing.
