Editing and Updating Contact Information

Editing a single contact and updating their fields are part of the same process in Transpond. From a contact’s profile, you can quickly update their details to keep your data accurate, improve personalization, and ensure everything stays in sync with your CRM.

Who can use this feature? Anyone

Available on: Free, Starter, Growth, Advanced and Ultimate

Edit a contact

  1. Open the contact you want to update from your contacts list.
  2. On the contact profile page, go to the left-hand panel.
  3. Click into any field you want to edit.
  4. Update the value (for example: email, first name, last name, job title, or custom fields).
  5. Click Save.

What you can update

You can edit both standard and custom fields, including:

  • Email address – ensures messages are delivered to the correct inbox
  • First and last name – used for personalization such as merge tags
  • Job title – helps with segmentation and targeting
  • Custom fields – store additional data to better organize and segment contacts

Keeping these fields up to date helps you send more relevant and accurate communications.

CRM-synced fields

If your Transpond account is connected to a CRM (such as Capsule), you can also update CRM fields directly from the contact profile.

  • Changes made to synced fields will automatically update in your CRM
  • CRM custom fields appear alongside your Transpond fields
  • This keeps your data consistent without needing to update it in multiple places

Tips

  • Regularly review key contact details to keep them accurate
  • Use consistent formats (for example, job titles) to improve segmentation
  • Update custom fields as you collect new information

Maintaining accurate contact data helps reduce errors, save time, and improve the effectiveness of your campaigns.
