Exporting Your Data
Exporting your data gives you a copy of your contacts, templates, and reports so you can use them outside of Transpond. This can be useful for backups, sharing data with your team, analysing performance, or importing into another tool.

Available on: Free, Starter, Growth, Advanced and Ultimate
Exporting Contacts
Your contacts are often the most important data to export. Most platforms support CSV uploads, making it easy to reuse your contact data when needed.
How to Export Contacts
- Go to Contacts
- Switch to the Export tab
- Choose All Contacts or use the dropdowns to select a specific group, segment, or contact status
- Click Export Contacts to begin
The file will download to your computer. You can also re-download past exports from the export history. Your CSV file contains:
- Email address
- First name and last name
- Custom fields
- Tags
- Last send, open, click, and bounce dates
Before You Use Your Export
Reviewing your file first can help avoid issues later:
- Check that column headers match the fields you need
- Remove any fields you don’t plan to use
- Confirm that consent and opt-in fields are clearly labelled
Exporting Email Templates
You can export your templates as HTML files and reuse them outside of Transpond. This helps you keep your existing designs without rebuilding them from scratch. To export a template:
- Go to Campaigns > Templates
- Click the three-dot menu next to the template you want
- Select Export HTML
The file will download to your computer. Repeat for each template you want to keep.
When using your exported template in a different platform or tool it is important to note that:
- Some styling may look different in other tools
- Merge tags and platform-specific variables will need updating
- Dynamic content rules will need to be recreated manually
Exporting Campaign Reports
Reports give you a record of past performance, which can be useful for internal reporting or analysis.
How to Export Campaign Reports
- Go to Campaigns
- Click Reports in the top right
- Click Create a Report
- Choose your report settings and click Run
Once ready, the report will download to your computer. Repeat for any campaigns you want to keep records of.
Exporting via the API
If you need more flexibility or want to automate exports, you can use the Transpond API. It provides structured access to contacts, campaigns, automations, and reporting data. You can find more information on that here.
Before You Finish
Before closing or downgrading your account, make sure you’ve saved everything you need:
- Export all required contact lists
- Download or recreate important templates
- Save any reports needed for compliance or internal use
Once your account is closed, this data will no longer be accessible.
